Anthropic Releases Initial Model Context Protocol Spec

Anthropic has released the initial revision of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) specification, dated 2025-03-26. This protocol defines how clients and servers negotiate versions to ensure backward and forward compatibility. SDKs will adopt this new specification gradually, allowing prior versions to remain in use for an unspecified period.
